adidas Originals “My adidas” Superstar 80′s

Adidas have created a custom pair of Superstar 80′s to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Run DMC’s 1986 hit “My adidas”.
The limited edition sneakers celebrate the trio from Queens that defined a genre and changed the sound of rap music, street fashion and popular culture.

The custom sneakers feature several details unique to the group including;
1986 stitched on the outside heel to celebrate the hit “My adidas”
“JMJ” sewn onto the back heel, paying homage to Jason “Jam-Master Jay” Mizell who passed away in 2002.
The Run DMC logo can be found printed on the leather lining of the foot bed.
The groups iconic “dookie rope” is reflected on the laces with gold plated chain lace lock.
A “Me and my adidas” a song lyric on the woven label stitched to the interior of the tongue.
3 sets of shoe laces in white, red and black

The official release of 1,986 pairs of the commemorative sneaker is set for November 11, 2011. In addition to the sneaker a “My adidas” graphic t-shirt and track suit was created. The sneakers and apparel will be available exclusively in the U.S. at a select number of partner retail stores, Originals stores and online at Shop Adidas

To celebrate the release two events will be held on November, 11 2011 at Dr. Jays and the Originals store in New York City.
